Marcus is a studio potter making wood-fire salt glaze stoneware and porcelain, which is decorated by drawing, stamping and faceting into the wet clay. He is fascinated by the interaction of salt and wood-fire with the clay. This method of firing enhances my forms and is a source of constant inspiration. He also runs pottery courses at his Glencairn studio.

Pottery Courses
Marcus offers a variety of pottery courses ranging from Weekend, Beginner and Improver courses to a comprehensive 10-Day Noborigama wood-fire salt ceramic adventure. He will work enthusiastically to make your stay at Glencairn a stimulating and positive learning experience. Prior to becoming a full-time professional potter in 1993, he spent the previous 15 years teaching. Why not Join him on a ceramic journey of self-discovery.
