In her native Holland, Corina trained and worked as a nurse, studies Social Care work and worked in a group home for people with learning difficulties. Her move to Ireland in 1990, saw start of her artistic career. Corina's Fantasy Folk Artist Dolls are in private and corporate collections in Ireland, Europe and USA.
During 1998 the artist embarked on a new creative journey; unwittingly mapping out a visual account of her experiences of living with an acquired disability (M.E.). Corina had two exhibitions in 2003 with the created artworks. The Fit to Fly DVD/documentary (sponsored by an ADF Award) became an accompanying piece to two more exhibitions in 2004. She further exhibited her work in Belfast, March 2006, and as part of a groupshow in Youghal, August 2007.
In June 2006 Corina published her book Hatched, a Creative Journey Through M.E. This project has been awarded the 'Regional Arts Bursary Award for County Waterford 2005'. The Waterford Co. Council Arts Office, and the Arts Council of Ireland supported the publication. In 2007 her poetry and short stories were published in The Lismoreian an anthology; Face on - Disability Arts in Ireland; and in Decanto Poetry Magazine/Anthology.
November 2009 saw the arrival of Corina's first children's book in the Cirrus Chronicles - Landing in Ballynelligan, which trail the adventures of Cloud Fairy Cirrus in the Lismore area. Corina wrote, illustrated and published the book.
She won the Artlinks 2009 Bursary for this project and received funding from the Irish M.E. Trust for same.
