Lismore Trout Club was formed in 1988 to cater for the needs of the local anglers including youth anglers. Since then we have established a proud record with our youth including winning the Munster Youth Championships. Each year we hold information sessions and lessons for our members, particularly juveniles. 15th Feb - 30th Sept is the length of the season.... come join us on the river Blackwater for a spot of fishing!! (maps will be provided once ticket is purchased)
The Blackwater River
The Blackwater or Munster Blackwater (Irish: Abhainn Mor) is a river which flows through counties Kerry, Cork, and Waterford in Ireland. It rises in the Mullaghareirk Mountains in County Kerry and then flows in an easterly direction through County Cork, through Mallow and Fermoy. It then enters County Waterford where it flows through Lismore, before abruptly turning south at Cappoquin, and finally draining into the Celtic Sea at Youghal Harbour.
