Learn the noble art of toxophilitry in safe surroundings and earn a useful safety certificate whilst doing so. Glenribbeen is a well established archery school with a reputation for safety and friendliness. Leave lessons as a safe and happy archer well equipped to join in archery-shoots. Try out various bows including a very-lightweight children's model, a modern re-curve, an American Plains-Indian flat-bow and a 6' English war(long) bow. Along with various arrows to suit each bow there is a set of medieval arrows including broadhead and 'flu-flus' used in bird-hunting.
Your instructor, Peter O'Connor, is IFTAS (Irish Traditional Field Archery Society) trained with almost a decade of experience. Peter will also impart something of the history and the lore of archery - known in polite circles as toxophily. If the correct standard has been achieved at Glenribbeen participants will be issued with a safety certificate. With this a visit to an archery club shoot becomes one of pleasure without the tedium of having to be assessed all over again.
