The Lismore choir is a friendly mixed choir of all ages about 38 strong. We usually present two major concerts a year; our Christmas celebration at Lismore Castle every December and a Spring concert often in Lismore Cathedral, as well as performing at various community functions locally. The choir also occasionally joins with other choirs for performance; and it has enjoyed entertaining choirs from abroad and then travelling to return the visit. The choir also participates in choral festivals.
The major choral works that the choir has performed In recent years has included 'The Crucifixion' by J.S. Stainer, Requiem by Fauré and in collaboration with the East Cork Choral Society 'The Passion of Christ' by J.S. Bach. The Little Jazz Mass arr. Chilcott and various other Sacred music pieces adds to our more serious music. Songs from the opera and folk songs from different countries as well as our traditional Irish are included and also more light-hearted songs from the musicals and of course Christmas carols!
